Fitness Centre Excellent

Design and construction of the modern integrated sports and fitness centre first in the Krasnoyarsk Territory began in 2002 on the initiative of Alexander Khloponin, the Governor of the region. The idea was supported by Mikhail Prokhorov, General Director of MMC Norilsk Nickel OJSC.

The design and construction of the Excellent Fitness Centre was part of a large-scale comprehensive investment project of a public-private partnership for the development of the sports and recreation leisure infrastructure of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

As part of a public-private partnership project for residents and guests of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 2 unique world-class complex facilities were created with a common concept, support program and club membership: The All-season Sports and Recreation Park - Beaver Log Funpark and Excellent Fitness Centre.

Main technical and economic indicators: building area - 1400 sq. m, parking area - 3000 sq. m, building volume - 20 700 cbm, total area - 4940 sq. m, ceiling height - from 3,400 up to 4,500 m, double light in the zone of swimming pools and transition galleries, facade area - 3200 sq.m, leaded light glazing in the training areas, a comprehensive climate and water treatment control system. The club includes a 25-meter swimming pool with a thermal complex, 8 specialized training rooms, a sports cafes and a bar, a SPA complex, a children's club. Up to 350 people can work out in the centre at the same time. The club works around the clock 365 days a year and implements more than 100 training programs.

The total cost of the project: $ 8.6 million.

When designing the architectural solutions for the facade of the building, the choice was made in favour of the unique futuristic high-tech concept of a stylized running race car that symbolizes the energy of movement, modern technology and the forward-looking optimism. In the decoration of the facade of the building, natural stone, composite panels, tinted double-glazed windows, decorative lamps made according to an individual project of architectural lighting and building design, were used.

The main idea of architectural and planning solutions is the concept of a single club area, where the main and auxiliary areas are connected by a single technological scheme that provides the necessary interconnection of premises. At the same time, it was important to create an extraordinary space that is different from standard typical public facilities.

The concept of the interiors of the fitness centre was carried out by two teams with a competitive choice of options for implementation. The task of designing the interiors was to achieve an optimal holistic impression of the club, harmonious combination with equipment and functional requirements, creating a bright “airy” space that tunes in sports and recreation. An important factor was keeping the relevance and comfort of the interiors of the club for a long time, even for frequent visitors.

After the construction and equipping of the Fitness Centre, the Investor transferred the management of it to professionals. As a result of competitive procedures, the Fitness Holding company was selected as the managing company - one of the leading Russian operators in the field of fitness, which manages more than 15 clubs in Russia and abroad.

Since its opening on December 2, 2005, the Excellent Fitness Centre has been awarded dozens of professional and public awards and prizes.
